Testimonials

Honestly, The Woods Academy was the best thing for me and really put me on a track towards a great life. There is something that is just special about The Woods and I feel a strong connection with it even now that I am in my twenties. I received a great education and I felt like people noticed me and truly cared about me when I was there and still care today. The Woods gave me two best friends that I love. The three of us share our memories which still remain a big part of our lives.

I feel special for attending The Woods and it is something of which I am very proud.

I have since been a part of many communities: High School, College, Sorority and I feel that although they have all been great, The Woods is the most dear to my heart.

Samantha Mayo, Class of 2005

The Woods Academy was a place in which I grew especially strong academically and spiritually. To start, the curriculum at The Woods Academy is challenging, but thanks to the determination of the teachers no one gets left behind and if the teacher notices you are struggling he or she will schedule a time to meet with you. For me, Science was a challenging subject and in class I struggled, but after meeting with my teacher a couple of times I was able to execute the experiments easier and record my data in a more efficient way. Next, there are endless opportunities to learn at The Woods and if you are interested in anything from computers, books, writing, and science this school is the place for you. If you are passionate about a topic and are willing to learn more, The Woods provides a great opportunity to explore new things in a safe and supportive environment. Finally, my spirituality grew at The Woods thanks to the Monday morning chapels and masses every so often. Faith is important to me and the school teaches you how you can trust in your faith during times of trouble. Finally, I will miss The Woods but I know that the skills that I have acquired will guide me in my next school and for the rest of my life.

Graduating from The Woods, you gain a set of life skills that helps you succeed both academically and socially. You have an understanding of your strengths and interests that puts you a step ahead of other students.

I still remember the passionate teachers at The Woods encouraging me to do my best in all things I attempted. I think what sets The Woods’ students apart from others are the motivation and self worth we gained at a young age from the inspiring faculty.

My favorite dynamic of The Woods community was the participation of each student, faculty and staff member. Everyone was thoroughly involved. The teachers would assign homework but at the same time, they would sit down and have lunch with you. After a day of classes, I would go to sports practice learning teamwork from the same teachers that taught me in the classroom. The drama production was a school wide effort with both an array of creative students and teachers involved. Nothing would be possible without the highly qualified teachers but it is really their character that makes them special.
