Welcome to The Woods Academy. Thank you for taking the time to explore our website and learn more about our programs and community. I hope our site conveys the breadth of opportunities our children are exposed to and the dynamic independent Catholic education we offer from pre-school through eighth grade. Our  website has been created to “show off” the school, our students, faculty and programs, but I extend an invitation to you and your family to come and see us first hand and truly “feel” the Woods experience.

The Woods Academy provides a well-rounded education that starts with our foundational Montessori pre-school. We have fully embraced the Montessori model in our preschool and believe it is the ideal preparation for the lower and upper school curriculum. Foreign language has been a core component of the school since our founding in 1975. Daily foreign language in Spanish or French for all grades not only exposes our children to a new language, it allows them to explore the cultures and places behind the language as well. In addition to a strong academic program that includes small class sizes and exceptional teachers, the arts have become a vibrant specialty at The Woods that enriches the lives of our children through direct instruction and integration throughout the curriculum. As you look through our website you will see examples of what our students have produced. A competitive team sports program, The Mighty Owls and our robotics team, the Owlbots, cap off our extracurricular program at The Woods.

As an independent Catholic school we believe it is our faith that informs and guides us daily. Our Catholic identity encourages us to be an inclusive community that promotes Christian values and a faith filled school. Our faith is an active one which promotes service in our communities and a respect for all. Our children will pray, reflect and live their faith in a way that promotes understanding and strives to support those in need.

In short, a child who attends The Woods will be prepared for a global society that requires critical and creative thinking, multiple skill sets and a faith to guide them. Our graduates are CEO’s of companies, college athletes and Broadway performers.
