Library/Computer Lab and Stage Enhanced
3/6/2006
The Woods library is being expanded and the stage is being outfitted with a professional grade theater curtain.

A passageway was recently created between the library and the computer lab to carve out the new Media Research Center.  Thanks to a generous, anonymous gift, the new center will allow groups of up to 12  students to conduct research while the computer lab is used for whole-class activities.

The stage will be outfitted with a curtain in time for the spring musical, Little Mermaid, as part of the same anonymous gift.  The curtain is the second phase of theater outfitting, following the installation of the sound system last summer.

Librarian and drama director Judy Higgins said, "both enhancements are very exciting."  Director of Technology, Tom Raneses said, "students will be able to use the new space in so many ways-- it will compliment all the learning that takes place in the library including research.  It will allow more students to use the technology resources."

The final phase of theater outfitting will be the installation of a stage lighting system.
