The Woods Lower School program gives students in Grades 1-4 a solid foundation in basic academic skills, and daily opportunities to practice analysis, evaluation and critical thinking. Our program emphasizes learning, community involvement, and global understanding.
The daily study of French or Spanish and rich experiences in the Arts motivate our students to expand their interests and grow as learners.
We place special emphasis on literacy and mathematics. Exploration and discovery are at the heart of our curriculum and help develop life skills such as initiative, flexibility and independence.
Students discover the value of communication and cooperation as they participate in group activities, and team teaching inspires a love of learning and an appreciation for the interrelatedness of all disciplines.
