Our students’ foundation in technology includes understanding how it works and how to use it to change lives. Our technology supports innovative learning at all ages – from interactive whiteboard projectors in all classrooms, to iPad learning stations in our Montessori Preschool, and one-to-one student devices in Grades 1 through 8.
Sixth graders planned their dream houses recently in French class. After mastering the vocabulary for the standard rooms that you would find in most any house (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc.), they were encouraged to learn words for more fantastical elements they would want in their dream home if they could build it.
Every fall we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Did you know that there are 21 countries in which Spanish is spoken?
This year the 6th graders researched different aspects of these Spanish-speaking countries.
In the Extended Care program at The Woods Academy, our students are continuously using their imagination to think critically and creatively, build, discover and create. We incorporate STEAM specific days and activities into our program at least three times a month.
5th Grade takes a Realistic look at Literature as they explore Realistic Fiction for their first Genre Report of the year!
First grade students are learning about apples and the season of fall across all areas of the curriculum.
