Our students’ foundation in technology includes understanding how it works and how to use it to change lives. Our technology supports innovative learning at all ages – from interactive whiteboard projectors in all classrooms, to iPad learning stations in our Montessori Preschool, and one-to-one student devices in Grades 1 through 8.
The benefits of creative expression do not end at any specific age. All children, youth, adults, and the elderly can and should participate in creative or artistic expression.
At The Woods Academy Extended Care, we encourage creative expression in indoor and outdoor play spaces.
In Science, the second grade has been studying the barnyard owl. They are investigating what they eat and how they regurgitate an owl pellet.
According to Harvard Graduate School, “incorporating the arts into the curriculum, raises the educational outcomes for learners.” With this in mind, 5th grade's recent book report project required the use of creativity and the arts.
In keeping with this year’s Christmas concert theme, our Spanish classes explored Christmas traditions of two countries of the Spanish-speaking world: Peru and Spain.
The holiday season is very close and it is always a busy time here at The Woods. No matter how busy we get, there is always time for being active. Physical Education classes and recess help our students lead healthy and active lifestyles.
