The upper school religion classes have focused recently on the importance of the Lenten season and, in particular, the three tenets:
- and almsgiving.
To start the Lenten season, students talked about the significance of lent with an emphasis on reflection and preparation before the celebration of Easter. Through their own personal narratives, students looked for real-life applications of stories and how these stories affect our daily interactions with each other in regards to empathy, compassion, and respect and why compassion is needed while exploring what it might be like to "walk in someone else's shoes."
Led by Father Mike Conway from Don Bosco Cristo Rey, The Woods Academy celebrated Mass on Ash Wednesday to kick off the Lenten season. A big THANK YOU to the following students who volunteered to read Responsorial Psalms, Prayers of the Faithful, and the First and Second Readings during the service:
