The 2021 - 2022 school year is officially in full swing! The first few days of the new school year were beautiful - smiles and laughter in the hallways, friends reconnecting, meeting new friends, and getting acquainted with new teachers and new classrooms.
A special thank you to Fr. Van Dyke, SJ, President of Georgetown Prep, who celebrated our opening Mass with us. If you missed it, you can watch the full Mass here. His words of kindness towards others and being a "light" to all around you resonated with so many of us, and we hope it does with our students and parents as well. We started our year off in faculty meetings with two themes that incorporate Fr. Van Dykes message. Be well, stay well. Bring joy, experience joy.
Our hopes and prayers are that we will all be well this year. That will require us to take care of ourselves and to look out for each other. Pick each other up when needed and lend a hand to encourage wellness all around. It is so important. Our students and faculty bring joy to school every day. That joy is noticeable. We feel it. When we bring joy, we will experience it. There will be challenges and hard days, but it will be the joy we chose that will help us be well and stay well. Joy is the best medicine.
Here's to a wonderful school year!
