Have you ever started singing to a song in Spanish or French, not even knowing the meaning of the lyrics? Well, that’s the way I started learning English!
Many educators recommend singing as a fun and effective language learning aid, making it one of the best and most motivating resources in the classroom. Almost every song centers on a particular verb tense, giving a good opportunity to teach grammar without using the tedious drills.
Songs can also be utilized to teach vocabulary, listening comprehension, and many other language skills while offering a change from routine classroom activities.
I hope you enjoy watching our fourth graders perform a "rap" song about the verb “ir” (to go) and the vocabulary of places, which they have been learning the past few weeks.
