When you think about your math classrooms in middle school, what comes to mind? You may be like us and remember memorizing facts and formulas, completing mountains of workbook pages, working independently, teacher-centered instruction and tests (lots of tests). While there are benefits to aspects of traditional math learning, there are also so many innovative ways to reach students.
Outdoor Learning
The Woods Academy’s Outdoor Learning Lab is a unique, extraordinary space for hands-on, independent learning in our courtyard. It’s an inviting space for students from Montessori through Grade 8 to explore areas of their curricular programs in new and exciting ways.
The Learning Lab is a space for students to experiment, collaborate, and explore STEAM, life sciences, environmental sciences; and to become autonomous, empowered learners.
You will often find the courtyard and this learning lab filled with students on a beautiful day at The Woods Academy!
