"Be Our Guest" and join us for Beauty and the Beast Jr. presented by the 7th and 8th graders. Buy your tickets today for the Arts Celebration at The Woods. The Arts Celebration is a culmination of the year's work from all students throughout the school. It will take place on May 17th and 18th. Come and see student work from all grade levels in our Art Gallery, listen to our incredible student musicians in the MPR, and join us for the 7th and 8th grade performance of Beauty and the Beast Jr.

What You Need to Know

Ticket Sales - Deadlines Approaching

Online ticket sales for Beauty and the Beast Jr. and the Arts Celebration will end soon. All tickets and food orders for Thursday's show must be purchased online by 11:59 PM on Wednesday. All tickets and food orders for Friday's show must be purchased online by 11:59 PM on Thursday. Tickets will be picked up at Will Call on the day of the show. In addition, tickets will be sold at the door for $15 each. Please bring cash or check.

Please note that floor seating for children up to 4th grade will be available at both performances. Please specify this option on the online ticket order form. In addition, we invite Alumni to attend the performance for free. Please also indicate the number of Alumni who will attend on the ticket order form.

Please visit the online ticket order form and follow the directions to purchase tickets. In addition to buying tickets, parents and family members can order a chicken quesadilla meal from Fish Taco, place a message in the playbill and/or donate money and become a patron of the Arts at The Woods. You can also order a DVD of the Beauty and the Beast Jr. performance. Please not deadlines listed above.

2:45 - 3:15 PM Normal Dismissal (Parents must pick up their children at the regular time, drive to offsite parking and return to The Woods Academy via the shuttle bus.)

3:00 PM Shuttle Buses begin.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist in organizing the student art gallery and exhibit hall from May 14-18, to sell STARS to the students during lunch May 15-18, and volunteers can help on May 17 and 18 by selling snacks, STARS, and roses just before the play, during intermission, and immediately after the play. (You'll still be able to see the performance.)

Concessions

For your convenience, the Arts Celebration team has arranged for Kids Chicken Quesadillas from Fish Taco to be served before the Thursday and Friday performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. Each quesadilla will cost $5.00. Please note that this year, dinner can only be pre-ordered. For your convenience, please order via the same online form where you will purchase tickets.

Other snacks, candy, and water bottles will be sold at our concessions table in the atrium before the show and during intermission. You will also be able to purchase roses for the performers and STARS at the concessions table.

Please come prepared to pay CASH for water, concessions, roses, and STARS.

STARS

STARS will be sold to honor your favorite Beauty and the Beast performer, teacher, friend, prayer partner, etc during lunch every day the week of May 14. STARS will be $1 each and will benefit the Arts at The Woods.

STARS as well as ROSES will be sold the nights of the performances.

Transportation

On both Thursday, May 17, and Friday May 18 there will be OFFSITE PARKING.

THURSDAY, MAY 17
Offsite Locations for Thursday:
  • THE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE - 7701 Bradley Boulevard, Bethesda, MD 20817 (Please park in the spaces farthest from the entrance and closest to the golf course.)
  • EMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH - 7730 Bradley Boulevard, Bethesda, MD 20817 (Please DO NOT park in spaces facing the church.)
Shuttle Bus Schedule for Thursday:
  • Shuttle buses will run from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
  • Parents are to pick up their children at the regular dismissal time and drive to one of the churches. They will then be transported back to school.
  • Showtime is 4:30 PM.
  • The last shuttle bus on Thursday will leave at 7:00 PM.
FRIDAY, MAY 18
Offsite Locations for Friday:

If parents or guests arrive late to the performance, they are to drive directly to the offsite parking.
