Alumni Stories
Just because our students move on to high school and college doesn’t mean they leave our lives. Our alumni remain highly connected, with each other as well as with our faculty and staff. Former students return regularly, to hug and thank their teachers and talk to students about what life has been like for them after The Woods.
We love seeing alumni back on campus at our annual events such as the Homecoming & Faculty vs. Alumni Basketball Game, Annual Auction, and Arts Celebration.
Eva Petric, Class of 1997, was constantly changing schools due to her father being a diplomat. She studied in Ethiopia and India, but when she arrived at The Woods Academy in 1994, she knew it was a place she didn’t want to leave.
The gym was buzzing with excitement as alumni and faculty balled it out on the basketball court. With over 50 alumni returning to The Woods, this highly anticipated game was one no one wanted to miss.
Fortunately for Anthony Mahshigian, Class of 2013, The Woods Academy launched its first robotics team in 2010 while Anthony was in 6th grade, and it ignited a flame in him that helped launch his career at SpaceX.
The Woods Academy helps its students to become curious people, always eager to learn new things.
The Woods is such a deep part of who I am, and I cherish my memories of growing up in that school!
Being in another elementary school makes me especially grateful for my time at The Woods.
