The Woods Academy: A private Catholic school where every student can shine
In a community with many notable public, private, and parochial schools, The Woods Academy stands apart. Our mission – and our continued priority – is to be an inclusive Catholic community preparing boys and girls to lead lives of significance.
We’re the only independent, co-ed Catholic, private school in the Bethesda area. Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students age 3 to Grade 8, as well as personal integrity, a spirit of equality, and a dedication to service.
Committed to our students’ long term success
Children are naturally curious. But without a constant stream of new and exciting stimuli, their desire to seek new information and experiences diminishes. Our experienced faculty and staff lead them to new discoveries, interests, and talents through our dynamic, integrated curriculum and wide range of after-school activities. This push drives our students to become more confident and encourages them to stretch beyond their comfort zones.
On our six-acre, park-like campus near DC, our students have the support to grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and culturally. Our model, starting with our Montessori preschool, grooms children for high school, college, and life, through creative, innovative programs in academics, religion, STEAM, music, sports, art, and world language.
