It’s that time of year again for the annual Itchy Witchy Recitation at the Woods! This is the 18th time that the 3rd grade class has put on this performance for their family and peers.
Stories from the Studio & the Stage
The Arts Team is thrilled to welcome our 7th and 8th graders to the stage to present Shrek, Jr.!
The Woods Academy Arts Department partnered with Everyman Theatre, a professional performing-arts theater and education center based in Baltimore, for our 1st through 6th grade students this year.
Our 5th graders have had a wonderful time learning about the foundations of still life drawings and how to use watercolor paint. We all enjoy a warm cup of love (I mean, hot cocoa) during these winter months! Art class is a great way to express that joy!
6th grade students at The Woods are participating in a cross-curricular activity between art and language arts with Edgar Allen Poe.
Our lovely 5th graders are working on their first still life project! Still life is an excellent way for our scholars to learn to draw precisely what they see from their perspective. They are learning how to pay attention to every detail that is created from light.
At the Woods Academy, all of our students, Montessori 3 year-olds through 8th grade, have music class as part of their regular curriculum. Many of our students also study instruments outside of school. We love to hear our student instrumentalists perform!
As the year comes to a close, I would like to shine the spotlight on our 8th-grade instrumentalists who have performed in our concerts this year and throughout their time at The Woods Academy.
