Building Confidence Through Public Speaking Practice

An important aspect of any public speaking opportunity is preparation. Grade 7 utilized the following steps to prepare for the Colonial Williamsburg presentation:

1. Review aspects of public speaking:
   1. Voice
   2. Eye contact
   3. Posture 
2. As a group, split up information that each student will present.
3. How to create, develop, and utilize notecards, a guide during the presentation.
4. Position of group members to each side of the presentation board.
5. Practice, practice, practice - as a  group and individually (at home).
