Haunted Houses for Sale!

In a spooky and imaginative twist on narrative writing, students dove into the world of real estate with a haunted house for sale! Using a structured brainstorming sheet, they developed eerie backstories, mysterious features, and ghostly selling points for their haunted property listings. As part of the writing process, students applied the 6+1 Writing Traits—focusing on ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation—to bring their haunted houses vividly to life on the page. To take it a step further, they constructed 3-dimensional haunted house models, creatively designed to reflect the mood, details, and unique features described in their writing. This engaging, hands-on project not only sparked their imagination but also deepened their understanding of strong writing elements through an exciting and creepy lens!
