Before the Live Auction begins, our auctioneer will announce: “Place your hand on your head (for heads) or on your bottom (for tails).” Everyone who has chosen to participate stands and places his or her hand on his/her head or bottom. Our auctioneer flips a coin. If it lands on heads, then all those with their hands on their heads remain standing. Those with their hands on their bums sit down (or vice versa if the coin lands on tails). We’ll keep going until we have a winner!
$25 to participate – you can add this to your invoice when you check-in.
The Auction supports a great cause - The Woods!
Money raised at the Auction allows us to enhance and advance our innovative curriculum, offer inspiring world languages, arts, music, and athletic programs, and give our students enriching opportunities both in and out of the classroom.
Your generosity quite simply makes more possible!
What makes a great Auction item? Items that are unique – whether an experience, a thing, or a trip. This can be anything from a private dining experience with a chef, to you sharing your expertise with a small group of parents. For example, you’re an artist, so you donate a “Sip and Paint” night at your home for a few couples or friends. You provide your studio, living room, etc., supplies, and a few bottles of wine and lead a small group class. Or you love to cook – offer to make dinner and deliver it to someone’s home. Get creative – and don’t hesitate to reach out to an auction co-chair or Traci to talk through an idea.
How can I help bring in items for the Silent or Live Auction? Having a connection (being a frequent patron, friend, family member, etc.) to a business, organization, or noteworthy individual is indeed helpful, but assisting the Auction team with emailing and outreach is incredibly helpful as well!
