The Woods Serves all Kinds of Kids

One thing that sets The Woods apart is The Woods is not narrowly focused. Woods has an offering for everyone and welcomes everyone and I think serves all kinds of kids very well.
-Ted Farrell, Parent 2022, 2024

Just a Matter of Time

It was just a matter of time before I came back as a teacher. I love being here because it is a really great community. I think the parents and the teachers really support each other well.
-Stephanie Clark (2005), Grade 4 Teacher

The Woods is a Special Place

The Woods is a special place because of the faculty and staff we have here. The commitment and dedication that I see daily is exciting.
-Ray Briscoe, Associate Head of School

Students of the World

At The Woods we really do our best to not only encourage our students to thrive, but also to be moral, to be ethical, to be problem-solvers, to be students that really are students of the world.
-Paul Paoletti, Grades 7&8 Math Teacher, Upper School Dean of Students

The Soul of The Woods

What I love about The Woods is that we do cater to each child. The soul of The Woods is compassion and I think that is what moves me the most.
-Liz Feeley, Montessori Teacher

Nurturing a Child's Confidence

It is really important for all children to learn how to interact in a classroom where you have both boys and girls. When they are able to do that and feel secure and feel confident and they're even able to feel vulnerable, it allows them to grow. That is a very important aspect of an elementary school that can really nurture a child's confidence.
-Jeanne Shriver, Parent 2012, 2019

A Very Family Oriented Community

When we first moved here, my four boys were very shy. They’ve grown at The Woods. They do dance, they are into sports, they love music - they’ve played the violin, the piano. They’ve done it all here. They are young but confident. I love how capable and able they are.
-Vinka Pasos-Ferrell, Parent 2023, 2026, 2028, 2029
