As many of you know, The Woods Academy has a partner school in Belfort, France. In order to deepen the connection between our two schools, 8th grade Woods students completed a project in December and January in Social Studies class that was a collaboration with 8th grade Vauban students. The French teachers at Vauban entered the project into a national contest in France put on by la Délégation Académique aux relations Européennes, Internationales et à la coopération about the entrance of the United States into World War I. We were thrilled to find out that it won first place for middle schools!

Our students’ foundation in technology includes understanding how it works and how to use it to change lives. Our technology supports innovative learning at all ages – from interactive whiteboard projectors in all classrooms, to iPad learning stations in our Montessori Preschool, and one-to-one student devices in Grades 1 through 8.
In religion, second grade is busy preparing for their First Communion.
Five years ago when I was explaining how the Pacer Test works, one student thought I said, "Pastry Test" and then it was born.
Fourth grade French students recently had the experience of preparing their own menu in French.
Then they enjoyed some real world practice of how to order lunch at Mon Ami Gabi restaurant.
Stargazing season may be officially over, however, in Extended Care at The Woods Academy, our friends loved learning about stars and constellations. The best part for our friends was creating their own constellation projectors.
